We commenced breeding Welsh ponies in the early eighties. At the time we had a young family and had difficulties finding suitable ponies. The Welsh breed appealed to us and decades later we know the right decision was made and are now totally committed to the breed as an ideal family pony.
Our first stallion was Radnor Stuart (Werncochlyn Pegasus x Urubula Nymph). He will always occupy a special place in our hearts as he produced our first winners and also won many led and ridden championships himself ridden and prepared by our daughters. Some time later we purchased the stallion Western Birthday (imp.) who crossed well with our lovely Coed Coch bred mares we were building up into a quality band of brood mares.
As the family grew up we moved also into Section B with the acquisition of a young colt Cheraton Cadan (Kirreway Rialto x Cheraton Sonata). After a successful junior show career he is still our Section B stallion and is producing top saddle ponies with championship wins at Barastoc, All Welsh and Melbourne Royal Shows.
We have three stallions currently standing at stud. Our current Welsh Mountain ponies are the grand old stallion Stanton Park Sideshow many times champion himself and producer of many champion ponies both in hand and under saddle. Stanton Park Mystic Warrior - black (Twyford Marchog x Stanton Park Tiffany who is producing lovely small saddle ponies with solid colours and the friendliest natures. We also stand a Sideshow son Lykanarro Charmer (Stanton Park Sideshow x Radnor Chamonix, i.i.d) a young stallion with excellent bone and movement. He has just commenced his stud career and already has several good youngsters out in the ring.
In the future we will be be crossing his daughters with out young stallion Nattai Galaxy. In Section B we have a promising 2yo colt Karanga Phoenix purchased as a foal who we feel will compliment the mares by Cheraton Cadan.
We intend to breed quality ponies for a while yet; they have given us so much pleasure and satisfaction over the years.
